What data we process, and why

We process what you submit on our forms, plus — with your consent — site and advertising measurement data, and the technical data needed to run the site and prevent abuse:

• •Quote requests and contact (name, email, optional phone number and district, message): to answer your enquiry and prepare a quote. Legal basis: steps prior to entering into a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)) and your consent.
• •Calculator quote requests (email and the calculation parameters): as above.
• •The 2027 waitlist (email, optional district): to notify you about the registration reopening, your district's conditions and changes to them, and other regulatory or tax changes affecting short-term rental — including updates to the downloadable district regulation map. Legal basis: consent — unsubscribe any time at info@hostix.hu.
• •Site and ad measurement, and building advertising audiences for remarketing (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Meta Pixel): these load only if you click "Accept" on the cookie bar; if you decline, no measurement or advertising code runs at all. Legal basis: consent.
• •Bot protection on forms (Cloudflare Turnstile): to prevent abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• •Technical logs kept by our hosting provider (such as IP address, timestamp, the page requested): to operate and secure the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest.

Who has access to the data

Form submissions reach info@hostix.hu via Formspree Inc. That address is an internal distribution list: the messages are read by the company's leadership, and the mailboxes are provided by Microsoft 365 (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited). The site runs on the cPanel hosting service of Rackforest Zrt. (Victor Hugo utca 11. 5. em. B05001., 1132 Budapest, Hungary), which states that it acts as a data processor for this service. With your consent, measurement data goes to Google and Meta Platforms Ireland; bot protection is provided by Cloudflare. We never sell your data and do not share it beyond the above.

Transfers outside the European Union

Formspree Inc., which serves our forms, states that it processes data in the United States on Amazon Web Services infrastructure, and that it relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers from the European Union. This means the data you enter in our forms is also transferred to the United States. Cloudflare, Google and Meta, which run our bot protection and measurement tags, may likewise process data outside the European Union under their own published terms. For Microsoft 365, which serves our email, the provider states that data belonging to European commercial customers is stored and processed within the EU and EFTA (the EU Data Boundary), subject to the limited exceptions it documents.

How long we keep it

Quote-request and contact data is kept for as long as answering your enquiry and any discussion arising from it requires — or until you ask us to delete it. If a contract is concluded, contractual and accounting retention rules apply to those records. Waitlist signups are kept until you unsubscribe or until we stop sending the notifications described above, whichever comes first. Formspree also stores the submission in our account until we delete it there. Membership of our Meta advertising audiences expires automatically after 30–180 days, per their settings; Google Analytics 4 retains user- and event-level data for 14 months, per our setting. Technical logs are handled by our hosting provider under its own policy; we have no access to them. You can request deletion at any time at info@hostix.hu.

Your rights

You can request access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing, object to processing, request data portability, and withdraw your consent at any time — withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing. Write to info@hostix.hu.

Cookies and withdrawing consent

Measurement and advertising codes load only after your express acceptance. The bot-protection widget on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) loads without consent, on the legitimate-interest basis described above. Your choice is stored by your browser ("hostix-consent"); if you clear the site data stored in your browser, the cookie bar reappears and you can decide again.

Remedies

If you believe we process your data unlawfully, please raise it with us first: info@hostix.hu. You may lodge a complaint with the Hungarian data protection authority, NAIH (naih.hu), and you may also seek judicial remedy.
